Why do we tend to stick to the same methods and never try something new? It is because we tend psychologically to fear the new. Call it caveman instinct. This is why most British people in history stayed at home. Very few went to seek their fortunes abroad. These were the pioneers. The conquerors. The buccaneers and pirates. The colonials. They were also the slavers and the exploiters of humanity. Whatever they were they were not the stay at home and hide in the basement types. They saw opportunities and they took them.
With video advertising you too can be a pioneer. We did a review of professional websites in the UK. Very few use video advertising. Even fewer use social media to advertise their services: be they solicitors or accountants, administrators or other professionals. Advertising isn’t their strong point it seems. Some instead run very expensive TV adverts – which are of course can be very successful.
The world is turning though. Most people now, your potential customers, are no longer TV viewers. Who needs a satellite dish and TV when we can watch it on a mobile phone, when and where we want to watch it? That’s no longer a question. That’s how people operate.
For a 50 or 60 year old to understand this might be quite hard in some cases, because they still use television, print media and the internet is something used to buy items from amazon. However, now they are getting used to using the internet, more and more tune into YouTube where one can advertise anything!
The great thing is that YouTubes ads are always video ads. You don’t pay if the person doesn’t click them. Nor do you pay if they watch them. The only time you pay is when they actively click and go to your website.
What you might not know is that every purchase you make; every search you make; data is being collected about your habits. Recently whilst making a film starring Valery Danko, the Managing Director of Perimetr Films, who is also an actress, we both searched for dresses. Now I have more dresses on my internet ads than every before. Google has taken my searches and blasts them to me!
That means that your business if it is not using video advertising is missing out. Why? The web allows us to share that video thousands of times. People might see your advert on google ads or facebook, or linkedin, depending on your market, and can share it to a friend who requires your service.
